In 1999 we made an alluminium frame that weighed less than 1000 g: The Piuma. or just Piuma. Today we have a goal with carbon fibre: less than 800 g, and we’ve achieved just that.
The experience acquired in developing the “Max Energy Drive” technology in 2006 on the Sansone frame optimised performance and the active rear triangle, while also making it beautiful to look at).
The unique shape of the carbon fibre tubing aims for lightness and stiffness, without overlooking the Daccordi legendary handling.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
—
Fly is built with Toray T700e T800carbon fibre, assembled together with the tube-to-tube method and then vacuum moulded after the layering process. This process allows for increased stiffness and resistance. The assembling process takes place with high quality resins at 130’C. Kevlar parts are added among the carbon fibre sheets which give elasticity in critical spots, reducing the possibility of breaking and increasing the resistance to any impact. Wider seats are used in the rear triangle to eliminate lateral torsion.
