Long distance – endurance
Profidea has more than 20 years of history. And not just Daccordi history.
It was born in 1995 specially built for the professional team Glacial Selle Italia, with one of the best riders, Nelson “Cacaito” Rodriguez. However, in the previous years the emergence of aluminium as the lightest material to build frames overshadowed all the steel frames.
However, aluminium has been left in favour of the carbon fibre, and over the years some riders have begun to ask for steel more and more until today, when this notable material has been left out a second time.
Profidea has been continuously updated and today it has some of the most modern features like the tapered steering, lightest tubing and there is also a disk brakes version available.
Profidea is the past and the future of steel.
Triple enforced Nobium steel, minimum thickness 0,45 mm maximum thickness 0,8 mm. Steel with an ultimate adjustable strength of 1050/1150 MPa, yield strengthat 705 MPa, minimum lengthening at 14%. With incredible resilience over the years.
Handling is improved thanks to the tapered steering. The pleasure descending through the tight bends in the road would be like no other.
With the best steel and fillet brazing, Profidea is comfortable but without losing its twisting power. The design we propose are for long distances, with the ability to mount larger tyres, however it was created as a made-to-measure frame so it can be built for racing.
